Moderator
Ben Yennie is the Co-Founder and CEO of Films by Neptune, a dynamic production company based in San Francisco. An experienced producer, he has made more than 30 short films ranging from dramas, to comedies, to post-apocalyptic thrillers. Two of his shorts, "The Crustacean Crisis" and "A Fistful of Staples," have done very well on the Colorado festival circuit. Ben won several Audience Choice awards and a few Best Comedy awards. Moreover, he produced and directed several documentaries, including two limited-release pieces on young adults with developmental disabilities, "Stepping Stones" and "Caring for Katie." Ben produced his first movie in 2006. He has worked with William L. Brown, the CEO and Founder of Striking the Water Productions, Ben Einhorn and Wes Warfield of Weston G. Warfield Productions, and many more young and talented people in both the Bay Area and Colorado. He has also collaborated periodically with various casting studios, including Denver's Hamilton Casting. Ben is quite accomplished at securing discounts and managing tight budgets to ensure that not a cent is wasted. He has even cut film budgets by as much as 80%, thanks to discounts, donations and the goodwill of businesses. In addition to pursuing his filmmaking career, Ben worked in the retail, financial and insurance industries with companies such as GameStop, Starbucks, Primerica and American Income Life. As an Independent Representative at Primerica, he sold financial-service products while learning from a Senior National Sales Director how to be a great salesman. As a Barista at Starbucks and Supervisor at GameStop, Ben honed his team management, motivational and scheduling skills. He attended the Colorado Film School and the Academy of Art University. Ben has been heading companies since the age of 8. He possesses the spirit of a true entrepreneur. Ben's first lemonade stand, Lemons R' Us, went from netting 50 cents a day to 50 dollars a day over the course of one summer. He is currently working on the feature film "Red," starring Jodelle Ferland of "The Twilight Saga: Eclipse," "The Cabin in the Woods," "Silent Hill," "Case 39," "Good Luck Chuck," "The Messengers," "The Tall Man," "Tideland" and "They." R Squared Films has agreed to distribute "Red" worldwide. »
